We can’t win, if no one joins the fight.
Homeless in our parks and city streets. Poverty affecting our children’s ability to learn. United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley needs you to join the fight to address these issues with tangible, lasting solutions. Together, we will improve lives right here in the Willamette Valley, by mobilizing the caring power of our community to support our friends and neighbors in need.
The Red Feather Society are generous and committed corporations or individuals that give an annual gift of $3,000 or more. Their support enables United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley to use individual contributions where they are needed most – providing help and hope to residents of Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties. The Red Feather SocietyIn the early 1930s many Community Chests, the forerunners of the United Way system, adopted the red feather as a symbol of service to the community. Even today, there are long term volunteers who still refer to the United Way campaign as the “Red Feather” campaign. In recent years, the red feather has become a symbol for community leaders who give at a level higher than the average citizen.
Red Feather Society monthly givers are unique individuals who understand the importance of giving back to the community. Their good fortune is considered something to be shared with those less fortunate. They believe the United Way is a good investment for their charitable dollars, based on personal knowledge and interests. Please consider becoming a member of the Red Feather Society of the United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley by giving monthly and making exemplary statement of community caring and compassion. |
