The Community Benefit Society are generous and committed corporations or individuals that give an annual gift. Their sponsorship enables United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley to use individual contributions where they are needed most – providing help and hope to residents of Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties. The Red FeatherIn the early 1930s many Community Chests, the forerunners of the United Way system, adopted the red feather as a symbol of service to the community. Even today, there are long term volunteers who still refer to the United Way campaign as the “Red Feather” campaign. In recent years, the red feather has become a symbol for community leaders who give at a level higher than the average citizen.

Their good fortune is considered something to be shared with those less fortunate. Today, we establish the Community Benefit Society (CBS) in Marion, Polk and Yamhill Counties to enhance our business community engagement. |
